Mikka Mallow
About/Bio
I am a performing artist with a background in sociology and dance, working across choreography, community, and curation. Alongside my work with Dance Cooperative, I develop and coordinate activities, workshops, and projects at Sydhavn Teater in support of local voices and the performing arts community. I also curate and manage Ubåden, which is a platform for emerging artists at Bådteatret.
My choreographic work explores embodied strategies that cultivate new perceptual habits and forms of intimacy. Through attentive encounters with objects, bodies, and environments, I look for ways to learn with the material world, its vitality, and the layered memories it holds. Lately I’ve been drawn to hard mechanical bodies and how to crash softly with them.
